also I doublechecked the keyswitches, they say "SMK" on them. That's Showa Musen Kogyo Kabushiki Gaisha, a japanese electronics company that's been around since the 20s. https://deskthority.net/wiki/SMK

Cleaning isn't a 100% success. In some cases, like the "T" on the big emergency stop button, the grime is stuck on there about as hard as the paint, so if you try to get it clean it ends up taking off the paint.pic.twitter.com/91fTTP61Q4
