How many weeks does it take to learn Finnish?

Depends on a few things like your linguistic background and the urgency to learn it. My friend who immigrated here from Afghanistan learned it quickly and is quite fluent now, because he had no other choice but to use it.
It's quite a unique and hence challenging language. Though it uses the Latin alphabet, many if not most words are completely unrelated to words used in other European languages. Spoken Finnish differs a lot from written Finnish which might add a confusing element to learning it.
