I think—and I might be totally wrong here—that being afraid of robots developing self-awareness signals a complete ignorance of both robots and self-awareness.

i personally fear these things. for all the things we simply don’t know, the potential damage and self sustainability of a population of these fuckers could seriously destroy civilization lol.

Yeah it’s not out of place at all; but I think so much of the scifi doomerism people project on them reveals a kind of gullibility after you spend some time talking to computers by coding or learning about neural networks haha

yeah i get that and agree. i just feel like with these physical manifestations, an exponentially more complex, sentient, and powerful form of digital intelligence may one day inhabit them. right now the humans will be the ones giving the genocide orders.
