A lot of Buddhisms have a well-recognized problem with avoiding life and liveliness—ignoring emotions and stamping out desire and so on. But there are more tantric buddhisms that correct for this in various ways. Is there anything you’d count as “tantric stoicism”?

Tantra is basically yogic wu-wei—hence this sentiment makes sense as Zen fuses Mahayana and Taoism. The novices think Zen equals ascetic practice and deprivation, but those who get it don’t fight the flow of Tao which expresses itself in all parts of human life.
