Being chronically vividly aware of human ignorance—and their ignorance of this ignorance—leaves you rather frustrated at people who keep acting like they know shit about anything. Which is most people most of the time.

True. But he also got beat up a lot as a kid & has a chip on his shoulder. & he thinks he’s the first person who is beholden to nobody (because he got rich writing a book). But I have news for you: there are many really smart people who are beholden to nobody who aren’t assholes

- genius and courtesy don't have to be mutually exclusive. have worked with / studied under actual geniuses who were exceedingly polite

Jordan Peterson, Robert Greene smatter than Taleb and they have compassion for people. Character is not knowledge and vice versa, using one to describe the other one makes a flaw argument.
