That's a bad take. His aim was to seek truth via logic. " I think therefore I am", was the foundation of his logical pursuits as it was the only thing he was sure of. It was introspective not self-centered.

Russell is correct though: there is no better breeding ground for insanity, collective or individual, than the Cartesian dissociation between mind and body, 'I' and the rest of the world, cast by excessive indulgence in thought.
