One way in which spiritual attainment/integration reflects itself in a person is how cat-like their demeanor is.

Hahaha please expound on this. I’m interested.

Haha let me try…
Basically just that cats are ‘present’. When they rest, they rest deeply; when they walk, they walk with grace; when they sit, they just sit; when they hunt, their focus is laser-sharp (though also employing their peripheral vision);

when threatened, they fight back instantly without fear of the size of their attacker. When they fall, they give in instead of rigidly stiffening to the detriment of their bones. You know the meme about cats being fluid? That’s flawless employment of wu-wei right there.

There is such a grace in the presence of a cat. Someone embodying the principles of the Way is precisely like that: flowing with whatever comes his way without seeking any ulterior fulfillment.
Eckhart Tolle fittingly said he’d lived with several Zen masters; all of them cats.

Love it. Oddly I’ve been thinking a lot about animal nature and your observations align with mine in this regard.

🙏 There is so much to learn from animals indeed. The more I ‘advance on the spiritual path’, the more I intuitively apprehend what masterly creatures they are and how they manifest the principles of the Way in their own ways.
