Is there any contemporary art you consider divinely inspired?
Conversation
I think about this all the time. For me, the answer is no, across all mediums, and I chalk it up to diluted DNA a la Multiplicity. Everything great that can be accomplished by -organic humans- has already been done.

Ooh, what a viewpoint - is there then an implication about greatness to be achieved by non-organic humans to come? (though, of course, what could we say about that yet haha)

Rest assured—this isn’t the viewpoint I -want- to hold. I look for genius in art everyday because I long for the thrill.
As far as AI—I don’t feel intrigued, hopeful, or curious even. Feeling a deep nostalgia for analogue art forms and inspired humanity.
What do you think?

Right now, the internet allows for so much creative expression that art has become very saturated; or maybe one's apprehension of it becomes numb as it is so abundant. I think this itself muddies the waters to an extent where it's difficult to discern greatness in art.
There are definitely, everywhere around this chaotic arising of creative expression, seeds of genius expressing themselves; but the signal tends to be buried deep within the noise.

I also definitely feel what you said about the longing for analogue art forms and inspiration—I'm unsure whether it's simply an anxiety about the novelty, or if it's a genuine signal about the difference in quality between the 'Lindy' stuff and the products of modernity.

Totally agree. The democratization of art through the removal of traditional gatekeepers has allowed a proliferation of work but watered down the quality—a double-edged sword for sure. We’re on the wavelength here. Let’s given on it and put something together.
