It boils down to what is meant by ‘you’/‘I’/‘me’. In non-dual terms: When Krishna, Jesus and other rishis said ‘I’ or ‘my’, they were speaking from the impersonal, all-pervading Self (Atman) in us all; not their mentally differentiated self-image, the ego.

The ego is an image. The Self is consciousness. ‘Man is the image of God’—God is what sees it through our eyes. When man confuses his true Self to be the reflected image, he falls from grace and lives under illusions. And this is the birth of all the ego-related nastiness.
