I can't help but feel that this is just a bitter loner's sour grapes–take.
Schopenhauer probably just saw how much fun people had with each other and was sad he was incapable of the same. Definitely reflects in his philosophy too lol.

Absolutely agree with that.
It's just the wording in the particular quote that made me feel such a way; the kind of smug, autistic self-importance one can sense in people who isolate from people not because it's their own choice (though they'd like to think so).

FWIW, i intended to say the initial tweet sort of jestingly, and not really as a profound and serious character analysis of a dead philosopher based on 200 characters of his text.
