I’d say the dissolution of gender per se, as the dissolution of a constricting culturally defined identity boundary, is indeed good; but most aren’t mature enough to realize they don’t need to keep affirming their newfound imaginary gender identities to everyone . . .
. . . as it simply is the same process over again, leading only to further confusion.
As you said, it is a result of consciousness increasing; however it manifests itself (at this point) as fractured and quite ungraceful forms of self-consciousness
