Peganum harmala seeds.
Chewing a few, then putting them to my upper lip like snuff for a while then spitting out.
Mild, reversible MAO-inhibition: allows monoamine transmitters (eg. serotonin, melatonin, dopamine...) to remain bioavailable longer than usual.

In the morning, boosts alertness by norepinephrine not being oxidized; in the evening promotes better sleep by doing the same with melatonin.
Zero need for increasing artificial input of any neurotransmitter/precursor when you can utilize what you already have better.
