The senses are the organs or perception of the mind. The mind is the organ of perception of the soul. And soul is the organ of perception of God. Your soul existed before you were born and hence, it shall also exist after your body dies. But let us not confuse mind and soul.

The mind referred to in my tweet you subtweeted was not the 'mind of Christ' of this tweet. I meant a mind preoccupied with prejudices and abstract information, not the mind that is empty of itself like Christ's mind was empty of himself.

Now, tell me what it is that interests you the more: sensory objects (matter) or spirit? That's fine if it is sensory objects, but if it is spirit, then consider that spirit is intangible and hence, more similar in essence to thoughts or emotions than to sensory expressions.

Sensory input becomes 'objects' only in the 'mundane mind', through conceptualization superimposed on reality. With the mind 'empty', one realizes this lack of distinction, or rather that all distinctions and divisions existed only on the mind and not in the reality underneath.

Agreed. But, let me get this straight: it seemed to be that you were giving more "reality" to sensory impressions than to abstractions or thoughts? And (if that is the case) I don't see why you would do that, given that what you are saying here is applicable to both.
