Real mindfulness *is* mindlessness, in the sense that you are not preoccupied with the contents of the mind. The true nature of the mind is like space. Space is something you are not highly aware of, and in the same way, in true mindfulness you are not aware of the mind.

Is the opposite of mindfulness, mindlessness? #betterdefinitionsplease

It’s funny how the paradox shifts with perspective. The hyper-awareness of entry level mindfulness is necessary to see the mind and then see past it, and enter into true mindfulness; mindlessness. 🤣 cheers to being empty.

...And further, acknowledging that, could there be a way to achieve the state of "empty-mind" without the initial hyper-awareness of mindfulness, or even a special mindfulness practice? Is it even fundamentally necessary? 😉 What do you think?

I think it’s the state we are naturally born into, programmed away from, and find our way back to, however that path manifests. It may appear to be spontaneously or through a practice but once the mind is seen through, so is the illusion of the doer that assumes the practice. 😉
