Some people cite the BCs as a source of the entourage effect. Interesting, because they seem pretty under researched so far

I recall intuited once that BCs will purposefully be left out in the psychiatric appropriation of these mushrooms, and consequently they will be viewed as ineffective because only one isolated compound (psilocybin) is being utilized.
We’ll see.
They're interesting because they can seem like irrelevant substances at first sight (we'd probably just look for related tryptamines) but the MAOI effects are interesting.
Some of the synthetic analogues seem to be indistinguishable, but it's still just anecdotal reports

4-ACO-DMT is indistinguishable when given as placebo to average individual, though experienced psychonauts and shamans will tell you it lacks the spirit. You can “feel” that ancient life form with psilocybin/psilocin and co.
