If you truly understood the connection between media, marketing, manipulation and the mind, you would turn off your TV and put your phone on grayscale—if you choose not to throw it in the bin.

You view reality filtered by the stories you tell to yourself in your mind, and (social) media gives you these stories if you don't derive your own (or, best, just see it as it is).

Inherently, there's nothing wrong with living by the stories others give you. But doing that unquestioned is what allows atrocities to take place—it allows you to be made to see "the enemy" in others, and to justify committing horrible deeds to eradicate this artificial enemy.
