Real religion isn't a doctrine. Real science isn't a doctrine. They both are at their root wonderful means of experiencing reality in their own light, but by making them systematic, political and cultural we use them to create arbitrary divisions between people and reality.

I very much agree. And as soon as doctrine takes over you lose both.

Exactly! I feel like they become almost weaponized; used to polarize and attack those who don't comply to their set of beliefs. Exactly unlike what they really are. This quote summarizes it quite well too:
