I certainly don’t understand the obsession over these either... just the mechanic way they move but mimic living things feels just so off lol

Once I had the opportunity to meet ASIMO & when you look into the “eyes” of such a robot face to face there is a sense that something is disturbingly wrong about the situation.

Absolutely. I can’t shake off the ominous feeling of short-sightedness from the blind racing towards developing these.

These researchers have a very cerebral outlook on life which is indeed characterized by the cherished Ego’s dream of maximum control with minimum effort.

Truly so. This combined with the haste of consumerism, we’re sawing off the branch we’re sitting on.
Humanity has survived well without robots for all of its existence, and judging by our current direction in the world I have absolutely no idea how they could better anything.

True, their eyes have no priority to see the breaking branch.
The foundational mechanism of the ego-intelligence is to annihilate uncertainty and unpredictability, so there is always something to be reduced to quantifiable data points to be eventually robotized...

The deep tragedy is that by being at war with the unpredictable and the uncertain, the ego-intelligence has already declared war on true creativity, the spiritual reality and made an enemy of the truly new. A world where there is no surprise or miracle..

Exactly! It’s making the world a dull, bland gray blot masqueraded in comfort and convenience. It’s a manifestation of our fear of the unpredictable which at the same time is fear of life itself... a manifestation of our absolute alienation from ourselves, life and nature.

And that’s not what we really want at all. It’s just a consequence of the modern man’s absolute incapacity for self-reflection.. which is very tragic indeed.

The times will guide us to situations where we will have to self-reflect, whether we want it or not. Silence is a necessary destiny

Yes, and perhaps that’s what’s happening right now during this pandemic and all the quarantines. With all the free time and the adversity of the times people might naturally gravitate towards self-reflection, at least it’s a great chance for it!
