We are part of an immensely intelligent system, the intelligence of which is far beyond our furthest capacities of conception. It maintains the natural order of all living things.

Yet we put ourselves on a pedestal because we made a very complicated system in which we transform the Earth’s resources into nonbiodegradable garbage, deplete it from its resources and kill its natural biodiversity, among many other things.

All this we do in the name of precious Economic Growth; the obsession over symbols as abstract as our thoughts. We expect these symbols and the goodies we obtain with them to make us feel fulfilled and happy, yet we’re the only species eating antidepressants.

And we gave ourself the title of the most intelligent being because no other animal has been able to do all this.
