Personally, I hate it when my fellow Christians callously tell you “there’s joy in suffering”. There’s a time and a place for that kind of ministering. Having said that, my prayer for you is that you’ve since found your happiness and haven’t given up on God.

Thank you. I agree. My r/ship w God now (which old church family would call backsliding) feels closer & more authentic. It also sometimes feels more agnostic. But I’m honest w myself & my God about it which I wasn’t able to before. And that feels like peace to me
