My interview with Bloomberg about CJ Roberts' declination to break ties, the sheepish justifications of Republican senators, and other issues raised as the impeachment trial winds down.

Honored to see my book, "High Crimes & Misdemeanors," reviewed very kindly (along w/ Brenda Wineapple's great book on the Johnson impeachment) in Times Literary Supplement (TLS).

The most recent version of the scholar's letter to the Senate rebutting the constitutional theories of Pres Trump's counsel is linked in this piece. It now bears about 300 signatures, including many of the luminaries of American legal scholarship.

Dershowitz stood in well of Senate & argued tht president is king who can do no wrong in service of remaining on his throne. At any previous pt in American history, he wld have been jeered off floor. Possibly ducked in Potomac. Republicans shook his hand. I despair for my country

Thx to for including me in this WSJ story -- If the Senate calls John Bolton as a witness and the president blocks him, that would plunge the impeachment trial into uncharted legal territory. via
