Modi was never capable to be a PM. Everything is a hype created to promote him. When news channels tell the truth, he blocks the signals. This is not democracy, but worse than emergency. - Modi’s old pal Pravin Togadia

Make me understand this: after fuel prices go up by 20 Rs, they get cut by Rs 2 and we ‘celebrate’? What happens now if oil crosses $100 a barrel? Is fuel state controlled or market driven or festival/election driven?

Indian Express reports RBI data that in 4 years of Modi regime banks have written off Rs.3.16 lakh crore and actual recovery is merely Rs 44,000 crore. These write offs have benefited crony capitalists who illegally diverted bank funds.Rajan wanted a multi agency probe into them.

Govt writes off 3,16,500 crore rupees from public banks in the last 4 years!! This amount is more than double of the annual spending in health, education and social protection. Govt for defaulters—what a country have we made? Irony: just above the news PM in an ad on education..

A government can be judged on four major grounds: whether it is incompetent; whether it is violently divisive; whether it is corrupt; and whether it is authoritarian. UPA soiled its record on one of them in 10 years. NDA has soiled its record on all four, in four years.

To get a clean chit on corruption from Sharad Pawar is about as valuable or useful as to get a lesson on batting from Jasprit Bumrah.

Female peacekeepers increase the effectiveness of our work in conflict settings. But they are less than 4% of our military and 10% of our police contingent. I welcome Canada’s Elsie Initiative to increase the participation of women in our peace operations.
