Because today seems to be IT day, I drilled into why my Mac mini is running like molasses for the past umpteen months, making it totally unfit for anything interactive. Turns out, spinning rust and APFS don't play nice at all! 1/4
Booting took ages, opening a new tab in Safari took seconds! So, todays digging: 'Remember when Apple introduced APFS and said that it was "optimized for Flash/SSD storage"? Given how !easy it is to replace an internal disk on the Mac mini (prepare for surtures and stitches!), I guess I'm SOL. Gonna maybe try booting from an external disk. Or Bootcamp + Win10. 4/finis
