Very proud and happy to share that our lab's first paper and my first as senior author is finally out! A big thank you to Kah Junn and fantastic collaborators Cheng Li, Wu Shuang, and several others.

Apparently there is such a thing as getting a paper accepted directly after first round of reviews. At least that's what just happened to our CRISPR library manuscript at . Thanks to the whole team! 🎉

I can only strongly congratulate and for their heroic effort! This adds to the power of reverse genetics in flies which has a strong basis with transgenic RNAi through efforts from long live the pioneer organism Drosophila

Study claiming new coronavirus can be transmitted by people without symptoms was flawed: Authors didn't actually ask the patient if she felt any symptoms... Duh!!

A fascinating thread on the science of the Coronavirus outbreak, following the trail of preprints. Demonstrates beautifully how science is done and why it works. Note that you’re seeing science being done in real time - not peer reviewed - some of the conclusions may be wrong.

Wow. So it's going to be completely covered up by the Republicans. What are Americans going to do now? Democracy is completely dead and buried. It's very, very dangerous what lies ahead.

Are Republicans really going to acquit Trump without seeing key witnesses & documents? During my 9 yrs studying in the US, I remember having a real chip on my shoulder from repeatedly having my country criticised as a dictatorship. I can't believe what is happening in the US now.

Others have already said this but I'm in awe of the scientists working hard on figuring out this virus and so proud of the open science movement.

published a study last year claiming no racial bias in police shootings. The study's central claim was mathematically unsupported. & I submitted critique to PNAS, which was rejected. We appealed. Today PNAS published our critique.1/n

Anyone who doubts that preprints are an amazing force for good should be swayed by this: the receptor for the Wuhan coronavirus is already identified and in the public domain thanks to h/t
