      So who did Globee work with that made this part of Project Coral Reef and why did they back out? How was it approved if Epic didn't approve and could easily pull the plug as they have done so? I'm genuinely confused by how this situation turned out

      We worked with their partner who runs the merch store. I haven't heard anything about the plug being pulled, Tim's Tweets only seem to clarify that there's no Monero partnership (which wouldn't be possible in any event).

      Thanks for clarifying. I checked with a dummy order, it looks like Monero/Globee is no longer listed as a payment option, so yea it seems like the plug was pulled. Does that mean their partner just scammed you guys?

      Doubtful, it's the same guys that we worked with on the Mariah Carey merch store and it still works there - could be a GloBee technical issue or something else. I'll find out tomorrow and follow up :)

      I'd love to hear too once this has been followed up on. Checked yesterday, and again right now, and Globee has been completely removed from Checkout at http://merch.fortnite.com

      Also noted, Fortnite's merch store uses @Shopify ...does this mean the noted reddit comment by @fluffypony was referring to them as the "merchant acquisition"?

      Had a meeting, Epic don’t want the merchant to re-enable crypto payments for now. The big problem is people made a VERY big deal about this; journalists claimed a partnership, people threatened to file Suspicious Activity Reports, & altcoins complained about not being accepted.

          The environment is - frankly - quite hostile for any large merchant. If they accept altcoins they get blasted by Bitcoiners threatening to withhold their business, if they accept Bitcoin they get the Ripple army calling the CEO. They can’t win.

          Thanks, that does make things a lot clearer. May I ask if Epic was on board with either a crypto option in general, or Monero specifically, before this all blew up? Tim's tweets seem to imply it was all a big accident, rather than a plan they eventually nixed.
