Ditched evolve your brain bc it got mystical. Went after the origin story instead bc one of my goals for this year is to improve my world model. Enjoying it so far; substantive and novel.

Couldn’t concentrate well and felt very tired; hence the snail’s speed. Also tinkered with ChatGPT as a reading copilot. No issue with sitting down to read; feels very natural already!

Again reading slowly bc I’m basically learning physics. Felt like a kid again reading about the birth and death of stars; a feeling I haven’t had for a while. Bought myself a reading stand!

Went on a tangent to understand spectroscopy: youtu.be/cMCzA9rqJy8 It’s an interesting question whether such digressions/rabit holes are productive or not. Prob depends on the goal.

Finally understood how planets form! Basically gravity centrifuges matter around a start in a disk and then matter further accretes into planets, satellites, asteroids, etc.

Finished the chapter on molecules & planets; excited to start one on life! Realized that seismography and spectroscopy are quite similar: both measure how signal passes through an obstacle.
