Quantifying Reputation in DAOs (part 2)

I took the weekend off to celebrate a few amazing women who inspire me to persevere with love. 💚
Luckily, they enjoy sitting around hot springs with a cool beverage as much as I do. 🍸

This three minute masterclass by @ErikVoorhees on why fiat money is bad money is both hilarious and revealing.
Share it with anyone who has no clue about money.

The first thing to do when deciding whether to do something is evaluate how long the task could/should take.
Never spend longer than that on deciding.

What's the most fun part about doing something impactful?

Super fun conversation with the always delightful !
We got into some good points about governance and DAOs in general, as well as a little recap of what it was like to produce .

Standards make things work on the backend.
But, things also need to be pretty and work on the front end. We all know UX/UI is often left for last at this point in web3. This will change too.
When the backend and frontend improvements converge we'll finally see what web3 can do.

About all I know is VMs allow execution of code (on chain).
Are VMs the only way to interact with different L1s?
Can we containerize L1s and make it easy to plug and play between them?
These questions are beyond my technical depth so hoping someone can help educate me.

It all starts with L1s.
Each L1 has internal standards, but what about between? The most fundamental and widely used cross-chain standard right now is the EVM, regardless of it's alleged drawbacks.

Easier said than done. But, there is a proven way forward.
Standards.
Defi was on the right path with the Lego thesis. But Lego just captured the concept of having standard sizes & connection types. It's always easy to replace a screw/bolt or to extend a design using standards.

Web3 social has the same underlying problem DAOs have, which is the same problem L1s have.
Composability.
Decentralized alternatives will never be able to compete outside of early adopters until we solve for the one thing consumers choose over everything else.
Convenience.

There's a tragic irony in the thought that 's demands to regulate the use of AI could end up leading to the first mass layoff because of it.

Hah! I just flipped my first NFT! It only took a year to happen. 🤣 Completely forgot I had a listed.
The question is, did I make 16 $NEAR or lose $20 USD? 🙈
Maybe rugged myself, maybe learned a fairly inexpensive lesson. 💯

Exactly. And the score is just a simple ratio of signals:submissions (trust score). People could just submit garbage before deadlines to keep trust scores up so would also need ratio of total submissions:approved submissions (quality/success score).

You might think by the number of projects listed in my bio that I’m juggling a lot and am distracted. But you’d be sorely mistaken.
I’m building an interconnected, regenerative ecosystem. And the pieces are starting to come together.
