Basically, the cause of the accident of Lion Air was that the AOA (ANGLE OF ATTACK), sent wrong information to the cockpit and made a stall warning. A new function with the 737 MAX 8 is that it would automatically push the nose down if the AOA says so. 1/2
Boeing did not inform the pilots nor the airline about this new feature, which can be turned of manually. Who to blame? 2/2

Same thing as Lionair pilots fighting MCAS causing the aircraft to nosedive as it thinks it’s in a stall as seen in the readouts. If this is the fault and the second MAX to perish under these facts it will be catastrophic for the company.
