The flight was operated by Boeing 737 MAX 8 registration PK-LQP. The aircraft was delivered to Lion Air in August of this year. It is powered by two CFM LEAP-1B engines. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/pk-lqp#1e5ff318 … #JT610pic.twitter.com/yCkR2PbMUa

We are downloading and processing granular ADS-B data that was transmitted by the aircraft, but preliminary data show an increase in speed and decrease in altitude at last transmission. #JT610

We have processed the granular ADS-B data received from #JT610. Last signal was received at 23:31:56.030 UTC from -5.81346, 107.12698 at 425 ft AMSL. Final ADS-B data received from the aircraft indicates a high rate of descent. A word of caution: ADS-B data can be incredibly useful, but to speculate on a cause at this point would be conjecture. The Flight data recorder and Cockpit voice recorder will play an important role in the investigation, as always. #JT610

Why doesn’t speed start at zero? It must, by the laws of physics. Airspeed Data as presented seems erroneous.

Hi James, this data is ground speed data and begins +0 as the tracking is coupled to position reports. Airspeed data for this flight was not received.

😬 Altitude was erratic the last 3 minutes. Falling/climbing/falling until it crashed...speed acceleration until last transmission. Pilots didn’t appear to have complete control. Makes me wonder if there was something happening in the cockpit. #JT610pic.twitter.com/sk5QaR6gjh

By comparison, here’s a normal climb out for another 737 originating from CGK. Obviously, there something abnormal happening either in the cockpit or to the aircraft to cause the erratic change in altitude. No stall is indicated by the airspeed.pic.twitter.com/44iZPzGSb0

I have flown the Max 8, great plane. I agree with you....why on earth were they doing 345 knots at 3600 feet on the last blip of data? Seems like early on the were hauling a$$, something is not quite right...

Also, note the quick jump 20 set to the east and then a quick correction back to a NE heading. Looks like pilot jerked the plane right and then left fairly quickly. So weird. There was a struggle...

Hmmm, very interesting indeed...a struggle would certainly support those erratic motions.
