How does a DNA binding protein find its site? Well, Lac repressor hops along the DNA while searching for target. Cool new work from the and Elf labs.

Cool observations about early stages of FtsZ-ring formation. We have some further observations about this stage of cell division and Z-ring assembly which we will share soon

My first last author paper is out! We give the first explanation for the positioning of origins in E. coli. A two-way interaction with self-organising MukBEF leads to origin positioning and partitioning as an emergent property of the system.

This is perhaps the highlight of my career. (oh, not the awesome science—the fact I got one of the premier biomedical philanthropies to describe the premise of an 80s cartoon in great detail) Thanks to everyone at and many others

Grad student/postdoc is selected to present their work at a conference: “You can only have 10 minutes!” Advisor gets invited to present the same work: “Here, have at least 20-45 min.” Why is this still a thing? Early career scientists are the ones that actually need the exposure.

Cool, work! Did you play with the number/positioning of fluorophores to see if you would get brighter cubes? I presume you are currently getting a lot of quenching.
