I wrote an essay about my losing mom to mental illness and homelessness, solely because is running for governor. This was a hard story to tell, but I hope it’s brutality can be a wake up call. It’s time for a change.

Great article. I agree, it's time to actually help, not just 'reduce harm'. Putting mearly a bandaid on the homeless situation is not enough.

Thank you for sharing your story. So sad you lost your mother. Her story resonates with me. I was delusional, schizoaffective, bipolar. Mandated treatment can save lives. It’s not perfect but it saved my life. I love One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.
