AFP confirms a copy of their written responses to questions from the committee went to Home Affairs minister Peter Dutton before they went to the committee. No changes requested. It's kosher / standard to run responses past the responsible minister apparently.

Also, shadow attorney-general Mark Dreyfus and Liberal senator Eric Abetz have had a bit of a blow up, because Abetz keeps interjecting on Dreyfus' line of questioning. Dreyfus jokes Abetz is giving evidence now.

Shadow Home Affairs minister Kristina Keneally is asking why a journo was raided when they wrote a story based off leaked info the govt "didn't like", but the docs leaked to the Australian for a story on the medivac bill didn't even warrant a phone call to the journo.

At the time the ASIO boss Duncan Lewis was critical of the leak behind this yarn:https://www.theaustralian.com.au/nation/immigration/phelps-medivac-bill-a-national-security-risk-asio-warns/news-story/87f684a1b3d38b2f08797abb3c47dce2 …

AFP said they decided not to investigate the leak behind Simon Benson's story on the medivac bill, so didn't conduct any interviews.
