To be fair, the ACT government is ensuring the entire ACT will be powered by 100%, and is on track to meet that goal in October.https://twitter.com/finbaromallon/status/1151635407093686272 …

My gripe with that is it's not powered by 100% green energy, it's offset. We suck power from the main grid and make sure that's 100% offset through renewable sources elsewhere. In their defence, this is a matter of a lack of real estate here and is still a great initiative.

Canberrans shouldn't be leaving the lights on at night and thinking it's not burning coal.

The projects that the ACT has contracted with for renewables perform better than you might think in terms of real time supply.
@DavidOsmond8 looked at the data and found that as much as 78% of Canberra's *real-time* demand could be supplied by renewables.https://reneweconomy.com.au/deep-dive-into-the-acts-100-renewable-energy-target-41592/ …1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes
Ok, that's awesome but, as David indicates, theoretical and not 100%.
