I agree, this is what happens when people no longer value your work, though that's not all there is to it. And you raise a good point about multiple subs. This is the problem with the paywall/membership model: many people can't afford multiple subs.

Well then subscribe to a publication that reports on your local community, if you think it's important and matters to you and the truth is Fairfax offers more local content than most of the big operators.
