My concern is the amount of time it took for action. Once they were informed, that should have resulted in a “drop everything and fix this fast” attitude.

The fact that all of this was stored in leaky S3 buckets is just jaw dropping.

The company claimed it's not even their data, but rather marketing materials bought from a 3rd party, which included 'age proof as required by law' :( the single ray of light I can see here - it's old data. Nothing newer than 2013; hopefully IRL addresses are no longer relevant.

but otherwise - yes; it's one of the most sensitive ones we've found, and we've found two buckets with children/parents PII/photos just this week

This is extremely dangerous to those breached. What kind of accountability can be held?

Unfortunately, I don’t think any. This company is registered in Andorra. And I feel certain the proprietors will just abscond elsewhere. Perhaps the affiliates could be leaned on, but I don’t know. This is so terrible.
