All day today Big Tech lobbyists (and "think tank" groups funded by Big Tech) have been spreading blatant misinformation about the updated version of 's bill #AICOA, the American Innovation and Choice Online Act (S. 2992.) Don't believe their lies.

The updates to #AICOA / S 2992 are mostly minor & helpful clarifications, as well as attempts to incorporate constructive feedback around privacy and cybersecurity issues. The bill is bipartisan & passed overwhelmingly out of committee. That's why Big Tech shills are going hard.

One of the worst Big Tech lobbyist lies about #AICOA is the claim that one of the updates somehow undermines #netneutrality.
Anyone who follows us knows we are one of the loudest organizations fighting for net neutrality and oversight of telecom monopolies. This argument is BS.

If you're curious, our pal Bruce Schneier, a world renowned cryptographer and security expert, pretty much eviscerated the industry's disingenuous talking points about privacy and security in this letter. Worth a read:

That's why industry lobbyists are going into overdrive and flooding the hill with nonsense.
These bills are the thing they fear the most: thoughtful, bipartisan legislation that attacks the root of the problem and forces them to compete on a level playing field.

Almost every single DC publication (politico etc) is being blanketed in ads from Big Tech lobbyists opposing these #antitrust bills.
They've got Capitol Hill under siege with an army of lobbyists whispering in Senate staffers ears with lies and concern trolling about midterms

But here's what we have:
The overwhelming majority of people from across the political spectrum agree that Big Tech companies have too much power and are doing real harm.
Congress needs to hear from YOU.
Right now.
