If I had to do something like this, I'd either just shell out to ripgrep / build it in, or try to use https://www.sqlite.org/fts5.html , depends on the content you're trying to search
Has anyone built full-text search in an electron app? (that runs locally on the desktop). Curious what you used to implement and what options you tried along the way.

Ya was considering sqlite's fts support, hadn't seen ripgrep will check that out, thanks! Any experience with http://elasticlunr.com/ or https://lunrjs.com/ ?

How big is the data? Can’t you just scan it all in a for loop?

Not sure yet, probably ~10's of MB, maybe upwards of 100's of MB

Haven't tried this but it may work https://github.com/typesense/typesense … It runs in docker but memory footprint seems tiny
