I thought gamers loved the free market and competition etc
-
they do enjoy competition but EGS is doing is not being good competitors. The EGS don't have a feature rich presence like steam has, but EGS keeps buying out devs to host their content exclusively on epic games store for 6 - 1 year. There also some negativity going around as well

There is nothing more pathetic or sad than people whining and complaining about a game not being on their storefront. The EGS isn't where it needs to be and it sucks in a LOT of places, but the Steam defenders are the worst people.
-
In fairness, as a Linux gamer it does concern me how little Epic care about us.

played it. It was OK for what it was. I don't get this Epic game store hatred thing, though. It's not like Steam is some wonderland of good practices.
-
It's a cocktail of dumb stuff shaken into a hurricane EGS is still rudimentary (no shopping cart!), Tencent stigma, devs talking shit about fans who didn't like it, sketchy data/privacy stuff, games taken off steam after people paid for them It was fine at first, but snowballed

I for one don't care much for the EGS, I understand people want to avoid it due to tons of awful news that being produced by nearly every PC articles and youtubers in general. Sometimes you got to understand WHY people defend their storefront so heavily for & what reason?
-
it's not ''their'' storefront it belongs to a company making tons of money, these people are literally corporate shilling
