this does not include microbiota which can also be considered as an organ and has around 10^14 bacteria...even if these are not cells, they are at least as, if not more, important than other cells

I am reading "Entagled Life" and I am more and more convinced we probably would need to revisit our definition of "body" and "individual". Seems to me our gut bacteria at the very least are integral parts of our life support system, just like any other organ.
