Carl Gustav Jacob Jacobi was a German mathematician famous for his maxim "Invert, always invert". He believed that the solution of many hard problems can be clarified by re-expressing them in inverse form. Inversion forces new ways of thinking and helps uncover hidden solutions.pic.twitter.com/trH0NlCmWX

In the linear world inversion is synonymous to solution. Therefore, the question a lot of scientists ask is: Can I linearize that?

At least this idea is true in literature: if the sentence sounds weird, always invert it

Put simply, inverting a problem means stating the outcome you definitely do not want and planning the steps you should take to avoid it. It is a good way of avoiding stupidity that could be easy to fall into otherwise!

Kind of like the universe and atoms, when you shift the perspective between macro <==> micro and see that everything repeats. 🤯

@vinuct Sir, how true is this (regarding inversion)?

He is the one behind the Jacobian - transforming variables (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacobian_matrix_and_determinant …). I think this leads the inverse transform in Random variables.. hence all the simulation analysis. Thanks for sharing.
