A Fibonacci spiral is created by drawing circular arcs connecting the opposite corners of squares whose side lengths are successive Fibonacci numbers. These spirals are appreciated for their beauty and can be found in Nature, Art and classical theories of beauty and proportion.pic.twitter.com/wj97eFOePu

In the left picture, the radius of the circles is constant in every square. Is this also true in nature or is the radius increasing continuously?

No, in nature the radius of curvature increases smoothly, while the circular arc approximation has discontinuities in its second derivative.

Actually, the nautilus shell looks like it might be a Fibonacci spiral, but its not -https://www.goldennumber.net/nautilus-spiral-golden-ratio/ …

Nautilus shells are not even close to Fibonacci spirals.

While not perfect, it’s incorrect to say it’s “not even close.” You’re right in that it’s not close to a “real” golden spiral, however, they are pretty close to a Fibonacci spiral. Close enough that it’s unfair to say “not even close” but not so close that you’re wrong.

actually Fibonacci spirals are an approximation of golden spirals, which are a special case of logarithmic spirals
