How do you correlate the formula in the RHS with the triangle below? What is n and n+1 in the triangle? Hope, you aren't just substituting n=5 in the RHS, then counting the circles in the triangle below, and calling it a "proof"

n(n+1) has nothing to see with the triangle. It is know that 1 + 2 + ... + n = n(n+1)/2
