only works for sheets of paper with aspect ratio of √2, which A4 has =)

Here's another way (image below): 1) Roll the paper 3 times and align the ends 2) Pinch the paper in the line 3) Unroll and fold where the marks arepic.twitter.com/WL2qeXLGxd

Exactly 3 parts? Using the word "ways" implies to me that there are three different methods to achieve this result or there are three folds. Counting only the last step, there are two folds...

With years of experience, I just do it and it's perfect every time. This way I don't introduce more folds in the paper than it needs.
