My Twitter rules -eyes on your own timeline. Mute or block anyone that upsets you, seriously. Don’t pick at others tweets. -DONT BITE Sometimes it’s really hard not to, you snap & tell someone to eat your ass. -apologise when you do, genuinely & w/heart -talk about what you love

I needed to heed this advice in the last few weeks and last night even. Thank you. I’m going to do better if I decide to stick around, and if I don’t I’ll do better outside the twitterverse. Thank you. :)

Treat it like you're at a giant dinner party. Don't go barging into others' convos, appreciate ppl might know each other outside of the party, don't say stuff you wouldn't want strangers to overhear, don't say things to ppl (esp ppl you don't know) that you wouldn't say in person
It's not a perfect system, but as my general rules of engagement I find it helps keep my perspective
i used those rules for FB where the racists were folks I went to high school or my misguided cousins! i deleted that last June. on twitter where no one knows me i go hard then mute or block them. the problem is i love politics. that's a hard conversation to keep loving. :)
