Our gross household income for 2019 was $87,590. This was earned through a combination of three jobs that issue W-2s and additional freelance income on which we pay self-employment taxes. 2/

Similar to last year...
We paid $23,300 in rent (not inc. utilities). 27% of our income
We paid $7,850 in student loan interest. 9% of our income. 4/

We paid $2,100 ($1,050/person) for the pleasure of unlimited travel on the MBTA (Zone 1A) which I know we all complain about but is actually an incredible privilege. I want more and better public transit here in Boston, please and thank you. 5/

Thank you for this. I agree that we as a society have been taught to be embarrassed around money, and that works to our disadvantage.
