Realized this morning that the closest friends I had as a teenager have all turned out queer even though none of us realized we were at the time. This is a perfect world.

Yes. Large group of friends from my late teens; the first time I'd ever got along well with so many people at one time, and we felt more like family than friends. 80% of us turned out to be queer though we had No Idea at the time.

Over the past 20 years it has certainly been the friends whom I felt the strongest affinity with and remained close to over time who became queer ... often many years into our friendship. It makes me think about what we sensed in one another.
