The first question on SB2199, a bill fining people $1,500 for using pronouns "not associated with deoxyribonucleic acid" in North Dakota, asks the senator:
"How do you plan on enforcing this?"
The senator pushing the bill is at a loss for words.

I post my salary here every year: thefeministlibrarian.com/2020/07/09/sal. As a Librarian with 15 years experience my salary is $73,438.

For some people, talking about salary is "taboo" or "tacky". But thankfully, younger generations are breaking down these barriers.
It's important to talk about salaries to close pay gaps based on gender, race, and other socio-demographic factors.

Me, to my 11 yo: What do you want to do for your 12th birthday party in Feb?
Her: I want a Potato Book party
Me: What's that?
Her: Just something I came up with. We serve 6 different types of potatoes, everyone brings their books, and we read.
Genius!

Dr. King spoke of "the fierce urgency of now," noting that we cannot wait for change. It's this urgency we all should move with to ensure justice and equity for all.
Today, may we remember Dr. King's fight for justice rooted in love and liberation.

Hot take: itโs morally wrong for rights of minorities to be democratically voted on, bc we shouldnโt be giving the electorate the right to prevent or remove other peopleโs rights. We shouldnโt have to โwin hearts & mindsโ to prove weโre worthy of basic dignity

Maybe it's the pain meds talking, but it's hilarious/infuriating how often center/reactionary/right complaints about the liberal/left boil down to "why don't you agree with us and find us attractive???"

Thing is, it can be an accurate description of behavior we find harmful. It's not an *empty* accusation. It's saying, "We don't like you because of this cluster of actions you do." You want "neutral" to mean "no one has a right to reject me/my ideas because I am neutral!"

This same flaw that is contained in Huertas's original piece is replicated in his response to me. His defense begins by insisting that the term is not an epithet, but a neutral description of an ideological tendency:
