I suppose if Anita played it, she would complain about how little of his ass you see.

No. The problem isn't that male character's asses are routinely covered up or downplayed. It's that female character's asses are so routinely emphasized and sexualized. The stark contrast between how male and female characters are so often framed demonstrates this.

Say that again but this time, look at how much of Kratos's body is on show in that screenshot. Oh and by the way, several people proved that point wrong about the game anita was "playing" (if she even actually played it) when she made that remark.

When men's bodies are displayed, it's usually to emphasize their power and strength, not to sexually objectify them. When women's bodies are displayed, it's usually to sexually objectify them. Also, "the game"? It's not about one game. It's a widespread, obvious pattern.

You're seriously sitting there and telling me that men are not sexually objectified in games?

Most games have been designed with presumed straight male players in mind. The physicality of male heroes is therefore usually designed to be something that the player wants to have/possess/emulate, not something they desire sexually.

A claim that you have solid, independent, verifiable evidence for, I presume?

If you watch the Tropes vs. Women in Video Games series with an open mind you'll see that the sheer volume of evidence makes it all pretty clear.

Prefer the more recent fully bearded Kratos... It I miss the chains something chronic.

i wonder if you and @anitasarkeesian argue about this franchise.. seeing as anita was openly not a fan of the god of war series (she said in a conference she didn't like the hyperviolent stuff)

The series is definitely pretty fucked up in terms of its treatment of women and Kratos’ extremely angry, violent brand of masculinity. But I’m curious to see where the new game goes with it.

from what i hear of the new story is kratos trying to heal his anger and stop his child from ending up like him though i do feel like its mostly the sequels that ruined the tragic element of the anger in GOW 1
