Today, we solemnly recognize the 103rd anniversary of the #ArmenianGenocide in which 1.5 million Armenians lost their lives. Turkey must end its denials and acknowledge this tremendous tragedy. We will never forget.

Cenk acknowledged he was wrong. He also used to write for the Federalist Society. Not as bad, but same concept. Used to be wrong, now better.

I actually had no idea about this until System of a Down wrote songs about the genocide in order to raise awareness.

Turkey is the recognized successor to the Ottoman Empire. Any guilt for the Armenian Genocide would be borne by Turkey.

I think that's the problem. Turkish government and politicians don't recognize it at all and pretend it never happened. Imagine Merkel saying Holocaust never happened.

I agree. There was a time where the majority of people in modern day Turkey were Greeks. So many Greeks and Armenians lost thier lives after World War 1 and this wasn't committed by a defunct country, but by the people who founded the Republic of Turkey.

I'm sure they'd support it. They don't have any misgivings about the atrocities committed (still committed) in Turkey.
