@ebonyaster OK so today I was really struck by the Spock thing. I found some wiki & Michael would have been 4 when Spock was born. I don't mind that there isn't any backwards continuity (it doesn't fit with existing eps) but THEY should be talking about him, even if casually

You would think it would have mentioned ONCE
-
it should be there at least mentioned en passant in their conversations.
-
There's no way he wasn't a very big part of her Vulcan upbringing. Specially as he was a child too
-
if they didn't want to talk about Spock they could have made up ANY new Vulcan for a foster father.
-
That's what I'm saying! There is a whole planet of other Vulcans!
-
they just wanted to be cool with the fans and instead we're all not impressed

I'm kinda shocked at how unsympathetic y'all are to Ash Tyler. Out of everyone there he's probably experienced to most trauma related to the infiltration plot, but you gladly support people dumping more guilt on him? Like yeah, Stammets and Burnam are totally justified in /1
-
Part of the issue is that while he might be more sympathetic as a character within the context of the show, he also exists in the context of real world society and politics and in that context the way he was talking to Burnham was a problem.

I can't believe y'all didn't start to like the show after episode 10 =/ I was right there with you disliking a lot of it up until they start explaining what has been going on since the start.

Also, isn't usually bad for someone to isolate themselves after a traumatic experience?
